Introducing the Team: Linda was STONZ first employee and central to the development of the support team.

Hi, I’m Linda and the first one on board in the ‘STONZ office’ working from home in Wellington since January 2019, taking care of memberships and membership fees and various admin.  My previous employment was 10 years in the medical staff office at a hospital in Wisconsin, USA before moving back to New Zealand in 2009.  Since then, I have been part of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and NZAGS (New Zealand Association of General Surgeons).  Being part of the Support Team at STONZ has been a rewarding journey; learning, moving forward, keeping it real and mucking in if needed. 

I have 3 kids, 22, 20 and 17 – not quite self-sufficient yet, but I’m pushing them along slowly.  I’m also a carer for my elderly parents so juggling the family is always a challenge and when you add a 1-year-old border collie to this mix and we have one crazy household!  I was an avid baker whipping up cookies and cupcakes and a busy home cook in my younger years but as our lives have gotten busier it seems, it’s all about cooking with convenience, so I am guilty throwing in the odd Uber Eats and Door Dash order every now and then. 

My kids are my world and I remind them every day to be good, kind, decent human beings…but I get a lot of eye rolling in return!  I strive to make a difference to those who cross my path in my lifetime and fully believe in paying it forward.
